another 70.3

Well, another 70.3 miles under my belt!! These miles were especially painful as my legs essentially stopped working about 6 miles into the run, however, still finished a respectable 41/1129 and 9th in my age group. It's the same guys up towards the top of this classification! I am thinking the top 10 guys in the 30-34 age group should get together and form a super triathlon-team! Travel the world, discouraging otherwise confident athletes worldwide!

The good thing about a bad race is that it humbles you and makes you keep wanting to get better. I know, for certain, that I have not had a "perfect race" yet, in fact, it doesn't exist...

Exactly 1 month until ironman wisconsin and as much as I hate to be ambitious about this type of thing, I must admit that I have been having delusions of grandeur about getting to hawaii...It seems I could be good enough, but there are so many variables that can change that one just never knows...

boulder long course

Getting ready for boulder half-ironman this weekend, in full taper mode....this is my last chance to get one of those homemade trophies they hand out!

Should be a great weekend!

rubber ducky

I had a beautiful swim in the bathtub-"esque" waters of Grant ranch this morning in littleton, co...took this swim with my rubber ducky aka old, uncomfortable, wetsuit! This nickname just helps me feel more at home in this particular wetsuit which at times in the past has felt more like a straight jacket than a swim enhancing device...This new psychological technique seemed to work, as I proceeded to swim 2 miles in 46 minutes!

would like to thank mile high multisport for putting on these long open water events. Check out mile high multisport's website for more triathlon events.
